Deep CrackFrom CryptoDox, The Online Encyclopedia on Cryptography and Information Security  The EFF DES Cracker is also known as Deep Crack. It was built by the EFF to prove the insecurity of the DES algorithm. The custom hardware solution cost less than US$250,000 and won the RSA Laboratory's "DES Challenge II" in 1998. It took only 3 days to complete the challenge.
